この法は、アメリカ国内の観光業の振興のために新設されるＮＰＯ法人の運営費に上記手数料を充当することを規定している。
ホワイトハウスは、「旅行業界への支援になり、新たな雇用を創出するため」と意義を強調している。また、米国政府は、「入国手続きのための手数料であり、ビザの発行手数料ではない」とも主張しているが、批判は免れない。

You are not required to present a printout of your ESTA application number to board your flight. That number is transmitted electronically to the airlines. However, if you are waiting for your approval status to be confirmed, and you did not keep a copy of your application number to log in to see the status, you will have to re-apply. Your old application number will be automatically cancelled and a new one will be generated for you.
I have a J-1 visa and my daughter was denied a J-2 dependent visa since she would turn 21 soon after her scheduled entry into the US. My daughter now wants to visit the US as a tourist. Can she get a B-2 tourist visa?
